Cooking Suggestions

1. Classic Beef Stew (Comfort Dish)
Ingredients:

  • Beef cubes
  • Potatoes, carrots, onions
  • Garlic
  • Beef stock
  • Salt & pepper

Steps:

  1. Thaw beef cubes overnight in the chiller.
  2. Sear beef cubes in a hot pot until browned.
  3. Add garlic and onions, sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add vegetables and beef stock.
  5. Simmer on low heat for 1.5–2 hours until tender.
  6. Season to taste and serve hot.

2. Quick Stir-Fry Beef Cubes

  1. Marinate beef with soy sauce, pepper, and a little cornstarch (15 mins).
  2. Heat oil in a wok, stir-fry garlic.
  3. Add beef cubes and cook until browned.
  4. Toss with vegetables (e.g., broccoli, capsicum).
  5. Finish with oyster sauce or black pepper sauce.

3. Beef Curry

  1. Sear beef cubes first for extra flavor.
  2. Add curry paste and coconut milk.
  3. Simmer for 1–1.5 hours until beef is tender.
  4. Add potatoes and cook until soft.

4. Beef Rendang (Rich & Flavorful Indonesian/Malay Dish)

Ingredients:

  • Beef cubes
  • 400ml coconut milk
  • 3 tbsp rendang paste (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 stalks lemongrass (bruised)
  • 4 kaffir lime leaves
  • 2 turmeric leaves (optional)
  • Salt and sugar to taste

Steps:

  1. Thaw beef cubes overnight in the chiller.
  2. Heat a pot and sauté the rendang paste until fragrant.
  3. Add beef cubes and stir well to coat with the spices.
  4. Pour in coconut milk and add lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and turmeric leaves.
  5. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer on low heat for 1.5–2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  6. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
  7. Season with salt and a little sugar to taste. Serve hot with steamed rice.
